Innovating Your Next Solution

"The amount of data I wanted access to is tremendous. Using the FileMaker platform allows me to use CalBiota as a research tool and as a means for organizing my own company's records, as well as for producing the many reports I need to prepare in the course of my consulting work."

Working with FileMaker Pro developer Michael Shakaid — an innovative developer with strong analytical and problem-solving skills — jumped on the opportunity and delivered a high-quality system that lets users access not just a comprehensive collection of taxonomic nomenclature on thousands of species, but also an extensive library of background information on the species and their environments. "Other databases exist," the review continues, "but these are usually limited to a certain group of organisms such as plants, birds, or mammals, or to a narrow geographic region. No other database allows users to enter their own data on organisms or to actually prepare the types of reports commonly assembled by environmental consultants."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with Michael Shakaid, and came to know him as a truly valuable asset to our team. I found him to be honest, dependable, and incredibly hard-working. Besides that, he is an impressive programmer who grasps the urgency of a situation. His knowledge of FileMaker and his ability to reverse engineer our programming was a huge advantage to our entire office. He put this skillset to work in order to keep us up and running during a very stressful time. Along with his undeniable talent, Michael has always been an absolute joy to work with. He is a true team player, and always manages to foster positive discussions and bring the best out of the other team members."
